How many do you have? One? Two? Ten? Twenty? Are they good friends or just people you know? How many of them could you go to when you need them the most? Who do you trust with your deepest secrets? Think about it. If someone asks you how many friends you have, you will probably say lots or many without really thinking about how many are true friends. We live in a Facebook nation now, where we try to friend as many people as we can so we can compete with others. But does it truly mean anything to show that you have 400+ friends on FB? Can you really talk to ALL 400 friends or do you just friend them to spy on them?
Think on it. Think about those friendships that help you get through the sunny days, through the dark days, through the up and down days. Think about those friends whom you have never met, those that you only see a few times a year, and those that you see on a daily basis. Think about the friends that you can laugh with, cry with, and making funny noises with.
Give thanks to the Lord for those people in your life. Each one represents a pillar in your fortress; holding you up, keeping you strong.
"There is no greater love than to lay down one's life for a friend's." - John 15:13
